Minutes later she heard a commotion outside and her dog barking for help.
“He was telling them, ‘Don’t do that,’” she said.“They ran off laughing.”
She put up about 30 posters around the Boynton Beach neighborhood and talked to children to see what they knew. The culprits were identified as a couple of teenage boys who were trying to sell the dog through social media.
“They want money for something they stole,” she said.“They’re trying to sell him on the street.”
The dog does not have an embedded identity chip but he did have a collar and name tag.
Surveillance video from a neighbor’s home in the 200 block of Northeast 11th Avenue showed the two suspects walking down the driveway in the darkness and then running away with the dog barking.
“It took all of 15 seconds,” Blocker said.
